- Since the average game will need hundreds of smelters, consider automating their creation early on to avoid being force to make them manually every time you need them.
- When creating mining bases in new planets it's normal to underestimate how many smelters you will need. Take with you both a decent amount of them and the materials to create more, specially Stone Bricks.
